School Rules & Conduct

All our considerations are in favour of the child — their safety, well-being, and good education. All rules have been framed with that in view.

A1. Guidelines for Parents

Whenever corresponding with the school, please quote the full name, class and section of the student. All communication should be escalated in the following order:

  • Level 2: Subject Coordinator
  • Level 3: Principal / Head

Behavioural Issue

  • Level 1: Class Teacher
  • Level 2: School Principal
  • Level 3: Head of School

  1. Parents and guardians are not expected to visit their child in classrooms during school hours unless invited by the school.
  2. Kindly ensure that the child reports to class on time.
  3. No student will be allowed to leave school early except in case of emergency or illness — subject to the Principal's approval.
  4. Kindly ensure your child does not carry valuable items to school.
  5. No mobile phone may be carried to school without explicit written permission from the class teacher.
  6. Parents should ensure the child dedicates time to homework and carries a complete set of books as per the timetable.
  7. Parent-Teacher Interaction (PTI) is held after each term assessment. Details are issued by circular.
  8. The school expects parents to attend all PTIs during the year. Students must accompany parents in school uniform. Report Cards will be handed to parents/guardians only.
  9. Parents are welcome to meet teachers on any working day through a prior appointment coordinated by the class teacher.
  10. Parents and guardians are requested to pick up their children within 15 minutes of closing time.
  11. The school considers it the prime responsibility of parents to ensure the child is healthy at all times.
  12. The school encourages home-cooked food and discourages junk and fast food.
  13. Parents must not send a child on an empty stomach. Please ensure the child carries a lunchbox with healthy food daily.

No parent or student shall post misleading facts, opinions, or content about the school, any teacher, or student on social media or any public channel. Content deemed defamatory by the Internal Review Committee will be treated as a serious breach of the Code of Conduct.

A2. Attendance & Leave

  1. A 6-day timetable system is followed by the school for most classes. The timetable structure may vary by grade.
  2. Students must maintain over 80% attendance each term.
  3. It is strongly recommended that students attend the first and last working day of each term.
  4. If a student is absent, the class teacher must be informed immediately by the parent or guardian.
  5. Leave must be obtained in advance. Students are required to submit a written letter signed by a parent or guardian to the class teacher.
  6. A medical certificate from a registered practitioner is mandatory when a student returns after more than two consecutive sick days.
  7. A student returning after an infectious or contagious disease must produce a fitness certificate from a doctor.
  8. Students arriving later than the designated time will be sent home after three written warnings.
  9. If an ID card is misplaced, lost, or damaged, parents must make a written request for a duplicate to the Class Teacher. A duplicate ID card will be issued for ₹200.

A3. Rules of Conduct

  1. Students are expected to respect the property of others and of the school.
  2. Each class is responsible for looking after its classroom and all items within it.
  3. No student should scratch, spoil, break, or damage school furniture, write on walls, or damage anything belonging to others.
  4. Any damage — even accidental — must be reported immediately to the appropriate authority. The cost of damage shall be borne by the offender.
  5. No books other than textbooks, reference books, or library books may be brought to school without the class teacher's written consent.
  6. Knives, crackers, water pistols, explosives, or any object that may cause injury or damage to school property are strictly prohibited.
  7. Exchange of articles, lending and borrowing of money between students is not permitted. The school is not responsible for any resulting loss.
  8. Students must maintain cleanliness and not litter anywhere on school premises. Use the bins provided.
  9. Running, playing, or making noise that affects others inside school premises is not permitted.
  10. English is the language of communication within school premises, except during classes or activities conducted in other languages.
  11. No student may leave school premises during school hours without the Principal's prior permission. A gate pass is issued and must be carried when leaving.
  12. All students should behave courteously wherever they go. The school is judged by the conduct of its students.
  13. The school reserves the right to dismiss any student whose progress is steadily unsatisfactory, whose conduct is harmful to others, or whose parents show little interest in their child's progress.
  14. Irregular attendance, insubordination, habitual inattention, repeated breach of regulations, or contempt of authority are grounds for dismissal.
  15. Only students maintaining the required attendance will be permitted to sit examinations.
  16. A student caught using unfair means during tests or exams will be suspended. A second offence will result in expulsion.
  17. All students must participate in physical exercise, games, sports, and school activities to develop sportsman spirit and physical strength.
  18. Students must wear proper uniforms and display their Student ID Cards at all times on school premises.
  19. All students must reach school on time.

A4. Withdrawal

  1. Every application for withdrawal and issue of a Transfer Certificate must be made in writing by the parent or guardian.
  2. Three months' written notice is mandatory before a student can be withdrawn from the school.
  3. A Transfer Certificate can be obtained one week after the date of fulfilling all formalities and submission of the application to the school office.

Disciplinary Policy

The purpose of this policy is to maintain a respectful, safe, and productive learning environment — ensuring consistency, fairness, and transparency in handling disciplinary issues.

B1. Code of Conduct

All students, staff, and visitors are expected to adhere to the following principles:

  • Respect for all others
  • Punctuality and attendance
  • Proper uniform and presentation
  • Academic honesty — no cheating or plagiarism
  • Respect for school property and environment
  • Appropriate behaviour in classrooms, labs, playgrounds, and common areas

B2. Types of Infractions

Minor
  • Uniform violations
  • Lateness to class
  • Mobile phone or gadget use during school hours
  • Classroom disruptions
  • Failure to complete homework
Moderate
  • Repeated minor infractions
  • Disrespect to teachers or peers
  • Verbal or social bullying
  • Minor vandalism
  • Use of inappropriate language
Major
  • Physical violence
  • Severe bullying or harassment
  • Academic dishonesty
  • Significant vandalism or theft
  • Drug, alcohol or substance abuse
  • Disrespect to school leadership

B2a. Uniform Compliance Procedure

Any student unable to comply with the uniform requirement on a given day — for example, not wearing shoes — must carry a requisition letter signed by a parent or guardian. The letter must clearly state the permitted period (from date and until date) and must be signed by any one authority from the hierarchy below.

No verbal approval is accepted. The student must carry the letter at all times and produce it when asked by any staff member.

Uniform matters are handled through the following hierarchy. Any one of these authorities may sign the requisition letter:

Level Authority Role
1 Class Teacher First point of contact for uniform matters
2 Floor In-charge Oversees conduct across the class group on their floor
3 PET Teacher Oversees school-wide uniform standards
4 Principal Final authority on uniform and disciplinary decisions

B3. Reporting Procedure

  1. Initial observation: The teacher or staff member addresses the infraction immediately. For minor issues, a verbal warning is given.
  2. Documentation: For moderate or major infractions, the teacher completes a Disciplinary Action Report (DAR) and submits it to the School Disciplinary Committee (SDC).
  3. SDC referral: If further action is required, the teacher refers the case to the SDC for investigation and resolution.

B4. Disciplinary Actions

For Minor Infractions

  • Verbal warning
  • Written warning (sent home)
  • Counselling session

For Moderate Infractions

  • Parent-Teacher Conference
  • Loss of privileges
  • Detention

For Major Infractions

  • Suspension (1–5 days)
  • Expulsion for severe/repeated offences
  • Parent and authority involvement

B5. Appeals Process

Students or parents who feel a disciplinary action was unjust may appeal to the school Principal in writing within five working days of the decision. The Principal will review the case and provide a final decision.

B6. Prevention & Support

  • Encouraging positive behaviour through recognition and reward systems
  • Offering counselling and mentorship programmes
  • Organising awareness workshops on bullying, respect, and conflict resolution

B7. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Teachers — First responders to infractions; responsible for immediate correction and reporting.
  • Disciplinary Committee — Investigates reports, makes decisions, and applies disciplinary measures.
  • School Leadership — Oversees the process, ensures fair treatment, and handles appeals.

All disciplinary actions are documented in the student's file, including the nature of the infraction, action taken, and communications with parents. The school maintains open communication with parents regarding serious infractions.

Transport Policy

The safe passage of every child to school and back home is of paramount importance. The school operates its own fleet with trained drivers and a transport attendant on every bus throughout the journey.

C1. Student ID Card Colour System

Every student is issued a colour-coded ID card indicating their approved mode of dismissal:

🔴

Red Card

School bus student — travels on the allocated bus route

🟢

Green Card

Collected by parent or guardian — must be signed out at the gate

🟡

Yellow Card

Self-dismissal permitted — student may leave independently

Escort Card: If a student is to be collected by anyone other than a parent or guardian, the school office must issue an Escort Card in advance. Students will not be released to an unauthorised individual without a valid Escort Card.

C2. Transport Policy

  1. The school provides pick-up and drop service through its own fleet, explicitly on request from parents or guardians.
  2. Any unauthorised travel on a school bus is an offence and will attract a fine of ₹500 per incident.
  3. Parents must ensure their children report at the boarding point on time, carry their ID cards, and behave in a disciplined manner.
  4. In case of any problem, parents must avoid altercation with drivers or support staff and contact the school office directly.
  5. For any transport-related information, parents must contact the school — not the drivers or conductors.
  6. The school optimises routes for least travel time. Individual route changes cannot be accommodated at the cost of others' time.
  7. Students are not permitted to travel on a bus route other than their own without permission from the School Administrative Officer or Principal.
  8. Bus drivers are authorised to stop only at designated stops. The bus will not wait for latecomers.
  9. The transport facility cannot be discontinued mid-session without three months' written notice or transport fee in lieu of the notice period.
  10. Requests for change of transport due to address change must be submitted to the School Administrative Officer at least three months in advance.
  11. Acceptance of transport change requests is subject to route availability and seat availability.

C3. Student & Guardian Responsibilities

  • Sit in your assigned seat and remain seated for the entire journey.
  • Younger students should sit near the front; older students towards the back.
  • Listen to the bus monitor and driver at all times.
  • Keep head, hands, and feet to yourself and inside the bus at all times.
  • Eating and drinking on the bus is not permitted.
  • Use an inside voice — yelling and screaming are not acceptable.
  • Be courteous — name-calling and inappropriate language are not acceptable.
  • Do not tamper with safety equipment, emergency exits, or any bus fittings.
  • Do not throw any object on, at, or out of the bus.

C4. Bus Incident Process

When a student does not adhere to bus guidelines, the bus monitor will report to the Transport Coordinator, who will report to the Principal. The following steps will then be taken:

  • The Principal and class teacher will speak to the student about the incident. Parents will be informed.
  • A formal letter will be sent to the parent and a copy added to the student's file.
  • Repeated misconduct may result in suspension of transport privileges.

C5. Emergency Transportation

The school maintains a dedicated vehicle and driver for emergency transportation of students to hospitals or clinics when required.
